First-Time Salon Visitor Guide: What to Expect at Rabbiz

Booking your first appointment at a new salon can feel nerve-wracking. Here's exactly what happens from arrival to aftercare at Rabbiz Salon in DHA Phase 3.

Walking into a new salon for the first time is a small act of trust. You're handing over your hair, your skin, sometimes an important event — and hoping the person behind the chair actually sees you. At Rabbiz Salon in DHA Phase 3, we've built our routine around making that first visit feel less like an appointment and more like a proper consultation with a stylist who genuinely wants to understand what you need. This guide walks you through everything, honestly: what to book, what to bring, what happens in the chair, and what a real luxury salon experience in Lahore should feel like.

Before You Book: Getting the Appointment Right

Most first-time regrets happen at the booking stage — people either under-book (30 minutes for a service that needs 90) or over-book (a full treatment when a trim would do). A quick WhatsApp or call to our front desk usually sorts this out in under three minutes.

When you reach out, be ready to share:

  • What you're hoping to achieve, not just the service name. "I want my hair to feel less dry after coloring" is more useful than "a treatment."
  • Your event or timeline — if you have a wedding in ten days, we'll plan differently than if you're just doing monthly upkeep.
  • Any allergies or sensitivities, especially to hair dye, bleach, or fragranced products.
  • Photos of what you like and, just as importantly, what you don't.

For bridal consultations or a Signature session with Rabia herself, we recommend booking at least two to three weeks ahead. Facials, threading, and mani-pedis can usually be accommodated with a few days' notice.

How Long Things Actually Take

A quick reality check on timing, because Google will tell you a facial takes 45 minutes and it really doesn't:

  • Threading (face): 15–25 minutes
  • Classic facial: 60–75 minutes
  • Hair color (root touch-up): 90–120 minutes
  • Balayage or global color: 3–5 hours
  • Bridal trial: 2–3 hours
  • Full bridal look on the day: 3–4 hours

Build in a buffer. Nothing ruins a salon visit faster than clock-watching.

Arriving at Rabbiz: The First Ten Minutes

Our salon sits in a quiet lane in DHA Phase 3, with parking directly outside. When you arrive, you'll be greeted at the front desk, offered chai or water, and shown to a seating area while your stylist finishes with their previous client — we don't overbook chairs, so waits are usually short.

Before any service begins, you'll have a consultation — this is the part first-time visitors often skip past, and shouldn't. For hair, we'll examine your scalp, ends and existing color under proper lighting. For skin, we'll ask about your current routine, water intake, and any recent treatments. For makeup, we'll look at your outfit, jewellery and the lighting of your event.

This is your moment to ask everything. What products will be used? Is the wax hot or warm? Can you see the color swatch before it's mixed? A good stylist will welcome the questions.

What Actually Happens in the Chair

The experience varies by service, but the standards don't. Every station is sanitised between clients, tools are either single-use or disinfected, and towels are freshly laundered — you should feel free to ask about any of this.

Hair Services

You'll be gowned, then taken to the wash area for a proper scalp massage and cleanse before any hair service begins. For color work, we do a strand test if you've never dyed your hair with us before, especially if you're going lighter. Processing time is spent comfortably — magazines, phone charger, chai refill. For anything involving hair treatments or dye, your stylist will walk you through the product being used and roughly what it costs before applying anything.

Skin & Facial Services

You'll change into a comfortable robe and headband in a private room. A facial at Rabbiz always begins with a double cleanse and a proper skin analysis under magnification — we don't run a generic "one facial fits all" menu. If your skin is reactive that day (Lahore's air can do that), we'll adjust the actives down or swap the peel entirely. No upselling in the middle of a treatment.

Threading, Waxing & Nails

Sensitive-skin clients tell us in advance so we can pull out the organic sugar wax or fruit wax instead of the standard formula. For nails, we sanitise implements in front of you and open fresh files. Simple, but non-negotiable.

Pricing, Payment and Tipping

We hand you a printed or digital menu at the start of your visit, with prices clearly listed. If a service has a range (color, extensions, bridal), your stylist will quote a specific number after the consultation, before starting. There are no surprise add-ons at checkout.

We accept cash, all major cards, and bank transfers. Tipping is appreciated but never expected — around 10% is standard in Lahore if you'd like to leave something for your stylist directly.

After Your Appointment: The Homework

A good salon visit doesn't end when you leave the chair. Before you go, ask your stylist:

  1. What should I avoid for the next 24–48 hours? (Sun, heat styling, makeup on freshly-waxed skin, chlorine on freshly-colored hair.)
  2. When should I come back? For most services, we'll write down a suggested interval — six weeks for root touch-ups, four weeks for facials in polluted months, two weeks for threading.
  3. What one product would make the biggest difference at home? We'd rather recommend one thing you'll actually use than sell you a shelf of products.

Keep a small note in your phone with the date, the service, the stylist and any product used. By your third visit, you'll have a personal record that makes every future appointment sharper.

Small Things That Make a Big Difference

A few habits that first-timers appreciate once they know them:

  • Come with clean, dry hair for cuts and color unless told otherwise. Come with oiled hair for deep treatments only if we ask.
  • Skip heavy makeup before a facial or threading — you'll just have to remove it.
  • Wear a button-down or loose neckline if you're getting hair done and heading out afterwards.
  • Eat something beforehand for long appointments. Low blood sugar plus a three-hour color session is not a good time.
  • Tell us if something isn't right — during the service, not after. Water too hot, wax too warm, color looking off in the mirror: say it. We'd much rather adjust in real time.

Your first visit is really an introduction. By the second or third, your stylist knows your hair's memory, your skin's moods, and how you like your chai. That continuity is the actual luxury — and it starts with one honest, unhurried appointment.

Good to know

quick questions —

Answered.

Do I need to book in advance or can I walk in?
Walk-ins are welcome for quick services like threading if a stylist is free, but we strongly recommend booking ahead for hair color, facials, bridal work or anything with Rabia directly. A day or two's notice is usually enough for most services.
Will I be pressured to buy products or add-on services?
No. Our stylists are trained to recommend only what genuinely benefits your hair or skin, and all pricing is discussed upfront. If we suggest an add-on mid-service, it's because your skin or hair is telling us something — and you're always free to decline.
What if I'm not happy with the result?
Tell us immediately, ideally before you leave. Small adjustments — tone, length, shape — are almost always fixable on the spot. For color or treatments that need to settle, we'll invite you back within a week for a complimentary review and refinement.
Is Rabbiz Salon suitable for teenagers or older clients?
Absolutely. We regularly see clients from their late teens through their sixties and beyond. Services are tailored to age, skin condition and lifestyle — a first facial for a 17-year-old looks very different from a mature skin treatment, and both are equally at home here.
