Pre-Wedding Skincare Timeline: Start 3 Months Out

A week-by-week pre-wedding skincare plan for Lahore brides, starting exactly 90 days out — what to book, what to skip, and when to stop trying new things.

Three months. That's the sweet spot. Long enough to actually change how your skin behaves, short enough that you'll stay consistent without losing steam. Most Lahore brides come to us either far too early (panicking a year out and over-treating) or far too late (a frantic peel five days before the mehndi). Neither works. What follows is the exact 90-day timeline I walk our brides through at the salon — what to do, when to do it, and just as importantly, when to stop doing things so your skin is calm, clear and camera-ready on the day.

Month 3: Assess, Reset, and Build Your Base

The first month is diagnostic, not dramatic. Your skin doesn't need to be attacked with acids and lasers yet — it needs a plan.

Week 12–11: Book a proper skin consultation

Before you buy a single new product, get someone qualified to actually look at your skin under good lighting. Are you dealing with pigmentation, active breakouts, dehydration, dullness, or a mix? A deep cleansing session is a great first step because it gives your esthetician a clean canvas to assess pores, texture and tone honestly.

At this stage, note down:

  • Your main concern (be specific — "pigmentation on my cheekbones," not "glow")
  • Any allergies or reactions you've had in the past
  • Your current products (bring photos of the labels)

Week 11–10: Lock in a simple daily routine

This is not the time for a 12-step Korean regimen. You want:

  1. A gentle cleanser (morning and night)
  2. One active — usually vitamin C in the morning, or a mild retinoid at night (never both, never new)
  3. A basic moisturiser suited to Lahore's current weather
  4. Sunscreen. Every single morning. Reapplied. This is non-negotiable — without it, every treatment you do over the next 90 days is wasted money.

Week 10–9: Your first professional facial

Book a results-driven facial around week 9. This gives your skin enough runway to react, recover, and show what it actually needs next. Avoid anything too aggressive on your first appointment — no deep peels, no strong extractions if you're breakout-prone. The goal is baseline hydration and gentle exfoliation.

Month 2: The Treatment Phase

This is where visible change happens. You've stabilised your routine; now you can push a little harder.

Week 8: Address specific concerns

Depending on your skin, this is the window for:

  • A brightening or pigmentation-targeted facial
  • A polishing treatment for uneven texture — our polishing service works beautifully on dull, sun-tired skin
  • Beginning a mild retinoid if your esthetician has approved it

Space treatments at least 3–4 weeks apart. Doing them back-to-back doesn't accelerate results; it just inflames your skin.

Week 7–6: Body skin, not just face

Brides forget that mehndi and nikah outfits show shoulders, arms, back and décolletage. This is the right week to start bleach or gentle body polishing if that's part of your plan — never in the final fortnight. Skin needs at least 10–14 days to settle after any body brightening.

Also begin regular hair removal on your preferred cycle. If you're switching from threading to organic sugar waxing, do it now — not the week of the wedding. Your skin needs 2–3 cycles to adapt.

Week 5: Hair and scalp check-in

Your scalp is skin too. Book a hair treatment around now if your hair is dry, brittle or colour-damaged. Healthy hair going into the final month photographs infinitely better than freshly-treated hair that hasn't settled.

Month 1: Refine, Don't Reinvent

The final 30 days are about maintenance and calm. Repeat what worked. Retire what didn't.

Week 4: Your second (and final) results facial

One more targeted facial around 3–4 weeks out. This is not the time for a first-ever peel, laser, microneedling session or any product you haven't used before. If it hasn't been on your face already, it doesn't belong on your face now.

Week 3: Bridal trial and hands/feet

Do your makeup trial this week, not later. It gives you time to adjust foundation shades, discuss coverage, and see how your skin behaves under HD makeup. Also book your first medi-pedi — your hands hold your dupatta, your ring, your henna. They'll be photographed as much as your face.

Week 2: Gentle only

Stop all actives that cause any peeling or purging. Retinoids off. Strong acids off. Stick to hydrating serums, sunscreen, and sleep. Threading and light waxing are fine; nothing new.

Week 1: Calm, hydrate, sleep

Seven days out:

  • One very gentle hydrating facial 5–7 days before the event (never 1–2 days before — that's when redness peaks)
  • Drink more water than feels reasonable
  • No new foods, no new products, no experimental supplements
  • Sleep. Skin repairs between 10 pm and 2 am — that's not folklore, that's when growth hormone spikes

Day of: Trust the plan

By now, your skin should be doing the work for you. If you're getting ready with our bridal team, arrive with a freshly cleansed face, a light moisturiser, and no active breakout treatments applied that morning. Our artists will handle prep from there.

What to Skip Entirely in These 90 Days

A few things I gently talk brides out of every single wedding season in DHA:

  • First-time chemical peels within 3 weeks of the wedding. Peeling on your rukhsati photos is not the aesthetic.
  • DIY ubtan experiments from Instagram. Turmeric stains, gram flour irritates sensitised skin, and no, lemon juice is not skincare.
  • Crash dieting. It shows on your face faster than anywhere else — hollow cheeks, dry skin, dull eyes.
  • New skincare purchased in the last 30 days. If a friend swears by it, buy it after the honeymoon.

The brides whose skin looks best on their wedding day aren't the ones who did the most. They're the ones who started early, stayed consistent, and knew when to stop.

Good to know

quick questions —

Answered.

Is 3 months really enough time to prep my skin for the wedding?
Yes, for most concerns. Ninety days covers a full skin cell renewal cycle plus recovery time between treatments. If you have severe acne, deep pigmentation or scarring, 5–6 months is better — but 3 months of consistent care beats 6 months of panicked over-treatment.
How many bridal facials should I actually book?
Two to three professional facials across 90 days is ideal — roughly one per month. More than that and you risk over-exfoliating your skin. The final facial should be 5–7 days before the event, never in the last 48 hours.
Can I start retinol before my wedding?
Only if you begin 8+ weeks out and start at a low strength twice a week. Never introduce retinol in the final month — the purging and flaking phase can last 4–6 weeks. If you've never used it, this isn't the time to experiment.
What if I have an active breakout close to the wedding?
Don't panic-pick or try harsh spot treatments. Book a calming facial with your esthetician, use a gentle salicylic spot treatment you've used before, and let your makeup artist know at the trial so they can plan coverage. One pimple is fixable — inflamed picked skin is not.
