First-Time Salon Visitor Guide: What to Expect at Rabbiz

Nervous about your first appointment at a new salon? Here's exactly what happens at Rabbiz in DHA Phase 3, from consultation to aftercare, so you walk in relaxed and leave delighted.

Walking into a new salon for the first time can feel a little intimidating — especially when you've read glowing reviews and you're hoping the experience lives up to them. If Rabbiz is on your shortlist, this guide will walk you through exactly what happens from the moment you book to the moment you leave, so nothing catches you off guard. We believe that a great salon visit begins long before the scissors, brushes or wax strips come out. It begins with clarity: you knowing what you want, and us knowing how to give it to you.

Tucked into DHA Phase 3, Lahore, Rabbiz is run by Rabia — a Canadian-certified makeup artist — and her carefully trained team. Whether you're coming in for a quick threading session or a full bridal trial, here's what your first visit will actually look like.

Booking Your Appointment

Rabbiz operates by appointment. Walk-ins are welcome when there's a gap, but for weekends, wedding season (October through March) and any service longer than 45 minutes, you'll want to reserve a slot in advance.

When you call or message to book, have these three things ready:

  1. The service you want — even a rough idea helps. "A facial for dull skin" is enough; we'll refine it in person.
  2. The date and rough time window — mornings tend to be quieter, evenings busier.
  3. Any deadline — a wedding, a shoot, a work event. This changes what we recommend.

If you're booking something big like bridal styling or a Signature makeup session with Rabia herself, expect a short pre-consultation call or WhatsApp exchange so we can block the right amount of time.

What to wear and bring

Wear something with a wide neckline or a button-down top if you're getting hair or makeup done — pulling a t-shirt over freshly done hair is nobody's friend. Bring reference photos if you have a specific look in mind. And come with clean skin if it's a facial or makeup day; if not, no problem, we'll cleanse for you.

Arriving at the Salon

Rabbiz is located in DHA Phase 3, and parking is straightforward. When you arrive, you'll be greeted at reception, offered water, chai or coffee, and shown to the waiting area if your stylist is finishing up with another client. We try hard to run on time — please try to arrive 5–10 minutes early so we can start on schedule without rushing you.

The space is intentionally calm: soft lighting, quiet music, and separate zones for hair, skin, nails and makeup. You won't be crammed elbow-to-elbow with other clients.

The Consultation — This Is the Important Part

Before any service begins, your stylist or therapist will sit with you for a few minutes. This isn't a formality. It's where we ask questions like:

  • What's your daily routine like at home?
  • Have you had this service before? Any bad experiences?
  • Any allergies, skin sensitivities, recent treatments, or medications we should know about?
  • What outcome would make you leave happy?

Be honest, even if it feels awkward. If you've bleached your hair three times at home, tell us — it changes how we approach a color or keratin service. If your skin stings with actives, we'll swap the facial acids. If you hate small talk during a massage, say so; we'll happily let you nap.

Managing expectations

A good consultation ends with a realistic plan. If you're asking for platinum blonde on virgin black hair in one sitting, we'll gently walk you through why that's a two- or three-appointment journey. If you want a facial to "fix" pigmentation before a wedding next week, we'll suggest what's actually achievable in that window versus a longer-term plan.

During the Service

Once we begin, a few things you can expect across the board:

  • Fresh, sanitised tools for every client. Nail files, waxing spatulas and disposables are single-use.
  • Patch tests for anything new — hair color, tinting, or a stronger chemical service — if there's any chance of reaction.
  • Check-ins throughout. Water too hot? Wax too warm? Brow shape a touch thinner? Speak up. We'd rather adjust in the moment than have you leave disappointed.
  • Privacy. Waxing, massage and intimate services happen in enclosed rooms with female staff only.

If you're getting multiple services — say a facial followed by threading and a blow-dry — we'll sequence them intelligently so your skin isn't irritated right before makeup, and your hair isn't crushed under a headband after styling.

Pricing, Payment and Tipping

Pricing is shared upfront. If your stylist suggests an add-on during the service — a deep conditioning mask, an extra layer of gel polish, a hand massage — you'll be told the additional cost before it's done. No surprises at the counter.

We accept cash, card and most digital transfers. Tipping isn't expected but is always appreciated by the individual staff member — 5 to 10 percent is generous.

A quick note on value: the cheapest option isn't always kindest to your hair or skin. A budget keratin with unknown formula can leave you with brittle strands six weeks later; a rushed manicure can lift within days. Choosing quality the first time usually saves money in the long run.

After Your Appointment — Aftercare Matters

Before you leave, your stylist will tell you exactly how to care for the service at home:

  • Hair color or keratin: no washing for 48–72 hours, sulphate-free shampoo, heat protection.
  • Facial: no makeup for a few hours, SPF the next morning, skip actives for 3–5 days.
  • Waxing: loose clothes, no gym or sauna for 24 hours, gentle exfoliation from day three.
  • Nails: cuticle oil daily, gloves for dishes.

Save these instructions — most people forget them by the time they get home. And if something feels off in the days after (unusual redness, uneven color, a chip), message us. We'd rather see you back for a quick fix than have you live with a result you don't love.

Building a Long-Term Relationship

The best salon visits happen after the second or third appointment, once your stylist knows your hair's cowlicks, your skin's moods, and how you actually like your brows shaped versus how you say you do. Book with the same team member when you can. Keep a mental note of what products they used. And don't be shy about asking for tweaks — a great salon relationship is a conversation, not a monologue.

Welcome to Rabbiz. We can't wait to meet you.

Good to know

quick questions —

Answered.

Do I need to book in advance for a first visit?
For anything longer than 45 minutes — facials, color, keratin, bridal or Signature makeup — yes, book at least a few days ahead, especially on weekends. Threading, quick blow-dries or nail touch-ups can often be accommodated as walk-ins if there's a gap.
Is Rabbiz a women-only salon?
Yes. Rabbiz is a female-only space with all-female staff, which is why waxing, massage and other private services can be offered in complete comfort. This is intentional and non-negotiable.
What if I don't know exactly what service I need?
That's completely fine — most first-time clients don't. Describe the outcome you want (brighter skin, less frizz, longer-lasting brows) and our team will recommend the right service and realistic timeline during your consultation before anything begins.
Can I bring reference photos for hair or makeup?
Please do. Photos help us understand your taste far better than words. We'll then be honest about what suits your face shape, skin tone and hair type — and what may need adapting to genuinely flatter you rather than just copying an image.
